Brother campaigns for cancer charity as sister faces life-long chemotherapy Wayne Banks with his sister Vicky Church. In April, last year, 29-year-old Vicky Church, from Lincoln, was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and faces chemotherapy treatment for the rest of her life. Her brother Wayne Banks has spearheaded a campaign to raise money for Cancer Research on her behalf and has so far raised £5,220. When Mrs Church was diagnosed with cancer she was amidst preparations for a dream wedding in Greece. But in order to accommodate her treatment programme she cancelled the trip overseas and re-planned her wedding in two weeks, finding an available church in Nettleham at the last minute. Two days later she started her treatment which consisted of a seven-week intense course of daily radiotherapy and weekly chemotherapy. Mrs Church's treatment was initially successful but in October Mrs Church was told the cancer had returned. She will now have to receive the chemotherapy treatment for the rest of her life. "I have to go for chemotherapy and the treatments I'm on are always changing," said Mrs Church. "At the moment I'm going for chemotherapy every Thursday. It's an ongoing battle. "My brother Wayne has done such a good job in raising the money for my charity Cancer Research. "I continue to, as best I can, maintain a balance between my quality of life and treatment."
